September 2021 Update


Making it real!


My vertical slice production is in full swing now.

Lately I have been taking systems and art that was kind of blocked in or not too deep for the prototype and fleshing it out into a real game. This includes some things like:

  • Making it all work in a real open world and not just a small prototype level

  • Making all the progression/unlock systems instead of something you play for five minutes

  • Figuring out the larger game loop and not just the “five seconds of fun”.

  • Lots of art polish and trying out new art styles to lock in the visual style of the game.

The goal for this Vertical Slice is to finish it before the end of this year. At that point I will scope out and adjust the plans/schedule based on how long it took to do this and also what changed or was figured out with the game.
